HSS Advisory is a Scottsdale-based consulting firm founded by Harsalee and Sid Patel, a husband-and-wife team with 45 years of combined leadership in healthcare and hospitality.
Our story
Why healthcare and hospitality?
Harsalee spent 20 years in healthcare, from trauma nursing to hospice executive leadership. Sid spent more than 25 years in hotels, from general manager to vice president of operations over large portfolios. Comparing notes over the years, we kept noticing how alike our work was.
Both industries live or die on the same things: the right people in the right roles, processes that hold up under pressure, sound finances, and the experience of the person being served, whether that's a patient and their family or a hotel guest.
We started HSS Advisory to put that experience to work for others, and to bring the best of each industry to the other.

Meet Harsalee and Sid
Harsalee Patel, BSN, RN
Principal, Healthcare Advisory
Harsalee is a Registered Nurse and healthcare executive with 20 years of experience. She began in high-acuity trauma nursing and has worked at every level of hospice and palliative care: on-call triage nurse, quality improvement nurse, Director of Patient Care Services, Executive Director, Chief of Clinical Operations and Regional Vice President of Operations over multi-site operations.
She has led census growth, budgets and financial performance, Medicare, state and accreditation compliance, survey readiness, merger and acquisition integration, and hospital and community partnerships, always with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.
At HSS Advisory, she helps medical practices and home health and hospice agencies strengthen operations, prepare for surveys and audits, improve quality, and create better experiences for patients, families and staff. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University.

Sid Patel
President
Siddharth “Sid” Patel is a hotel operations executive with more than 25 years of experience driving revenue, margin growth, process improvement and cost containment across Rooms, Food & Beverage and Sustainability. He has overseen more than 70 hotel properties, from $2M to $15M in annual revenue, and has led more than 35 successful receivership turnarounds for lending institutions nationwide.
His career has progressed from General Manager of a full-service conference hotel to Area Manager over 20+ receivership hotels, Regional Operations Manager and, for the past eight years, Vice President of Operations. He has run properties flagged with Best Western, Hilton, IHG, Choice and Wyndham as well as independents, managing budgets and forecasts for ownership groups, monthly lender reporting and Property Improvement Plan (PIP) renovations.
Known for mentoring teams through change and building lasting relationships with owners and lenders, he has driven revenue growth of up to 12% while balancing world-class guest service with the needs of the business and its people.
